Entering its fifth decade, the Boulder law firm of Hurth, Sisk & Blakemore’s attorneys Chuck L. Sisk, Stephanie L. Brennan, and T. J. Willard welcome to its litigation and trusts and estates team, Jessica H. Catlin and Jonathan Leinheardt from the former Boulder law firm of Stevens, Littman, Biddison, Tharp & Weinberg, LLC.  Expanding Hurth, Sisk & Blakemore’s focus on a variety of litigation and probate matters, Jessica and Jonathan will play key roles in growing these practice areas.  They bring more than 50 years of combined appellate and trial experience, in probate and civil litigation (both plaintiff and defense), estate planning, and domestic relations.  They are widely admired by judges and lawyers alike, and provide top notch client service to a variety of individuals and entities.

Jessica Higgins Catlin has been practicing since 2001 in the areas of estate planning, probate administration and litigation, trust litigation, civil litigation, appellate advocacy, and domestic relations. Ms. Catlin is also a mediator in these same areas of practice. Ms. Catlin takes a pragmatic approach to litigation and the use of ADR (alternative dispute resolution) techniques.  Ms. Catlin graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in 2000; she clerked for the Honorable Lael Montgomery 2001 – 2002; and began her practice at Stevens, Littman et al in 2002. Ms. Catlin was the chair of the Boulder County Bar Association’s Elder Law Section from 2012 – 2016 and the President of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra from 2015 – 2020.

Jonathan Leinheardt is an accomplished trial attorney with nearly 30 years of experience in New York and Colorado. He represents clients in elder law, trust and estate litigation and administration, civil litigation, domestic relations, and criminal defense. He is a former New York City prosecutor where he handled a variety of cases through successful investigation, trial, and appeals. After leaving the Queens County DA’s office, he began focusing on proceedings to appoint a Guardian to handle a person’s financial affairs or personal needs. He received numerous appointments as Court Evaluator serving as the eyes and ears of the Court. After moving to Colorado in 2003, he focused on guardianship and conservatorship matters at Stiner, Beck, Jonson & Nolan in Golden, and Stevens, Littman, Biddison, Tharp & Weinberg, in Boulder. He has been receiving court appointments as respondent’s counsel in protective proceedings under Title 15 of the Probate Code, while developing vast experience in a wide range of domestic relations matters. He served as Chair of the Boulder County Bar Association’s Elder Law Section in 2017-2018. Mr. Leinheardt also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of REACH Charter School in Denver, one Colorado’s first fully inclusive schools, and also serves on the Board’s Governance Committee.
